I couldn't put this book down! It was such a refreshing and modern take on romance. Lynn, who is a nerdy but successful writer, hooks up with her high school crush- sexy, ex-jock Nick. (This is not a spoiler- it literally happens on the first page.) What follows is a steamy, fun page-turner set in California with complex and lovable characters.

Amiee Smith's fresh approach to her characters and their lives was unequivocally my favorite part of the book. Lynn and Nick are an interracial couple who share a penchant for a certain medicinal plant. Lynn is a vegan, while Nick is... not. Their lifestyle choices aren't central to the story, but it was refreshing to meet a leading couple with unique interests that vary from the standard formula of romance novels. I loved the characters, loved the book, and can't wait to read the next installment of the series.

This. Book. I don’t even know what to say. It definitely grabs your attention and doesn’t let you tear your eyes away! I felt every emotion joy, excitement, frustration, anger, romance! Lynn is who i strive to be in life and Nick is who i strive to be with! Just read it, let the hot sex and captivating characters take you to a fun magical world full of unicorns!

A fun book with equal parts plot, cool characters and sexy romance. The build of the storyline allows you to meet the other ladies of the Smart Girl Mafia and I look forward to hearing more as the series progresses.
I liked the book in the beginning, but I eventually became bored with characters/story. All the different types of weed was interesting & made me want to venture out to try some. Lol. Overall, the book wasn't bad, I just lost interest & skipped towards the end.
I enjoyed the book and the characters. I love the music and I even picked up her favorite green juice. She made me rethink my food choices. Something I had been already thinking about. I was fascinated by their mutual enjoyment. Never knew there was so much so many to choose from. Looking forward to the next book.
This book had a sexy, fun beginning that immediately grabbed my attention. It’s a light, sexy read with great dialogue and two main characters that really tickled me. I live in the Netherlands (close to Amsterdam) but have never been tempted to enjoy all that the country has to offer until now. Thanks Lynn, for making me think about broadening my horizons lol. This is a light, fun read, and I can definitely recommend it.
Meh, this book started off so strong, I loved the car backseat rendezvous with the characters, but it smoked out quickly afterwards that hot scene.

The book drags on nonstop about medical marijuana, weight loss, diet, eating, vegan food, and other things that’s rather distracting and not that interesting. I felt like I was reading a long pamphlet about the dispensary-drugs and how it’s legal to buy pot in California rather than a novel that’s heavily overpriced for its debut.

Because of the nonstop inner, and outer dialogue about this, it made the story boring and choppy. I couldn’t relate to either character. All I could think of them is that they both use weed because they kept talking in lengthy details about it.

I didn’t like the book nor did I hated it either, it was bland in so many places that I lost interest even before I made it half way through.

The authors writing is stellar, the plot line is flat. Don’t suppose I’m interested in other books in this series, especially if the price is this high and there’s to much information dump on things that’s distracting from the plot, whatever it might be.
